Sarah “Moxy” Moczygemba is a Religious Studies Doctoral Student at the University of Florida in the field of Religion and the Americas. Moxy graduated with a B.A. in Political Science and Religious Studies from Trinity University in 2009. She received her M.A. in Religious Studies from the University of Florida in 2013, focusing her research on the Cowboy Church movement in Texas. Moxy’s broad scholarly interests include Religion and Popular Culture and Religion in the Americas. Within these fields, she has a variety of interests including transnationalism, immigration, gender/sexuality, and politics. In addition to their work in the Religion department, Moxy is also pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Women’s Studies. Currently, she is in the beginning stages of dissertation research, and is exploring transnational religious tourism and ethnic identity by looking at the Silesian Polish Catholic experience in Texas.
